EWS leave time calculation

Would be a huge benefit if when requesting vacation that is 6 months away to have EWS automatically calculate the leave balance that an employee would have at the point of the time off date. This way employees know that they would have the available to take the time off 6 months from the request. Right now the employees has to manually do the calculation in the system and know too much information for the calculation. The employee doesn't want to do all that work, and end up asking payroll who then uses a lot of time figuring the future vacation balance for employees. We used to have this in our old timesheet system and it was a huge benefit.

Hi Liz,
EWS does provide the employee with their leave balance when entering a request. They have to enter the 'leave balance as of' and leave code(s) to apply. This will provide an estimated accrual totals and balance.

I will contact support, because it does not work. If I enter for time off in March 2024 it shows 8 estimated accruals when it should be 12, and if I do December 2023, it also shows 8 estimated accruals. I guess the leave balance calculator can't cross years.
