Increasing character length in Description in EWS

In EWS > Manager tab> Approve Timesheets> adding time for an employee. We have an in-house counsel that uses the description field for documentation of his time. We would like the character length in the description box expanded from 500 to maybe 1,000 characters. This would give us ample room to document his services. Our work around is using the messaging center for the time being, but it would be easier to see it on his timesheet.
