Streamline dropdown menu use for vendor & customer ids in Cloud Modern

When entering a CD or AP Invoice, in the Payee ID or Vendor ID field, typing the first few letters of the ID will open up the dropdown with vendors, but then I need to either down-arrow or mouse click within the dropdown to select the vendor. It would be more efficient to be able to select the top option simply by tabbing to the next field.
