Default Views - Active Items, Filters
The system-defaults should be set to "Active Only" on lists like Chart of Accounts, Vendors, or Customers, but really for *any* list that has an active / inactive status available. It's actually concerning from a user perspective that developers wouldn't understand the efficiency and efficacy of this.
Additionally, when a list is filtered, that filter should at least be remembered during a session, rather than always being blanked out upon movement between screens. Filters should also be able to be selected as a default - for instance, the Chart of Accounts should be able to be set to one of the segments as the default view, rather than always having to see the entirety of the list (all segments, all statuses).
On filtering, ALL filters should be drop-down boxes rather than text-string searches. If we have 5 segments defined, the segment filter should simply have those 5 items in a dropdown (if we won't ever be allowed to default our view to just one of them, as noted above).

Suzanne Admin MergedHi there,
Can you clarify, are you asking for an additional workstation setting to avoid seeing items in 'inactive' status under the customer maintain pages? -

Jessica Roche MergedHi Megh,
For me personally, that would work in 'preferences' to where if you check 'Only Display Active' in documents, when entering an invoice, ar doc, po, etc., that is where the check box would be enacted. This check box option should affect ap invoice, ar invoices, po's, distribution codes, as far as I am concerned. That is where it is the most frustrating to have to filter every time you have to 'USE' an id to add to a transactional document. Apologize for my wording, but I don't know technically what these docs and fields are called in Abila :-). So I hope that makes sense! If you want to view it, feel free to reach out to me and I will share my screens so you can see what specifically I am talking about. That way it makes clear sense to programmers as well ;-).
Thank you!

dan MergedThis woudl be for MIP Classic interface. Don't care if it's in the cloud.
I would love to see a Workstation Preference box of "Auto sort/filter to only active items" on any drop down lists. That way any user only really has to see the active items to choose from.
Also, in the maintain window (chart of accounts, vendors, customers, etc) it woudl be great if there woudl be a QUICK filter - that is a simple radio button - that would allow the list to only be active items. I don't want to see anything inactive. And, this active would be the default.
I've attached some screen prints for your review. -

Brittany Clements MergedHave lists and dropdown menus display active only as default with a checkbox option to display inactive and/or discontinued options. Main areas for this are the vendor list, employee list, and distribution code list.
This is for Classic but Modern could use it as well. -
