Add additional column to all GL reports that is a running total of the balance

I would like to see a column in all GL reports that is a running total of the balance after each transaction. To currently do this I download the report in Excel and add the column. This is useful in reconciliations because the report provides a date when the balance is 0.00. I can then run a GL report to include only the transactions the are or may be part of the GL balance.
