copy employee info to vendor file

most of our employees are also vendors as they receive draws; I would like to see a check box option in the employee information tab to copy name, address and banking information including pre-note info to a new vendor file using the same vendor id as employee id. This would not only save time but data entry errors.

This would be a great time-saver; but I would like to clarify that I think the two should still be able to be edited separately.
What I mean is if we were to use that option to copy the info, but later need to edit the preferred address of the vendor file but not the employee file or vice-versa, I would hope the system would have a way of knowing (or a checkbox to specify if the change is uniform or for this ID only).
