Distribution codes
There should be an option to add the distribution code used as a column in GL and transaction reports. This would help in both being able to verify transactions were entered correctly and provide backup to auditor's for their allocation testing

Suzanne AdminHi Yosef,
Thank you for taking the time to submit this request. We've reviewed it and unfortunately because the distribution codes can be edited after being used in a transaction, this would not guarantee verification of the data. Also the transaction coding can be edited after using the distribution code making it different. Tracking the distribution code used would not improve the ability to verify data so at this time we do not plan on implementing this request. -

PaigeI am actively trying to find a way to pull payroll reports based on Distribution Codes. We use earning codes to determine what kind of hours are being paid, (regular, vacation, sick, personal, holiday, etc.), then use the distribution codes to tie the earnings to a fund number, where every grant has an individual fund number. So we have several employees who are split between 10-12 distribution codes per pay period. Their percentages are never the same because the hours are based on actual hours worked. To get away from spreadsheets and estimations, I am hoping to see a report that I can pull by distribution code or by fund number that will show me employee name, hours worked, rate, earnings as well as all of the broken out fringe amounts that follow those earnings to the GL. I love that I can automate the wage & fringe to go to the respective grant expenditures, but I still have to put in the work for spreadsheets to prove the details to the funding sources.

Jason GibsonPerhaps make the distribution codes similar to purchase orders where the only way to edit the amount after pulling it in is by additional adjustments. The distribution code amounts would be locked in the transaction. We have had auditors and monitors ask why this is not a feature of your software, and taking the approach I listed should allow it to show the distribution code at the time it was pulled into the transaction.
